The Demon Writer

I will introduce you to this wonderful town called Lakefall. Lakefall was named that way because there is a lake in the center of the town that turns into a waterfall and becomes a river that leads to another town that is about a hundred miles away. All the inhabitants of Lakefall are dead and buried. The buildings are rotting and overgrown with weeds.
Only one person lives in this town and he happens to be alive (you would have to be alive in order to live). This single inhabitant is a writer and writes books. Everyday he wakes up, has breakfast, writes, has lunch, writes, has dinner, and then writes until he is tired and goes to sleep. The next morning, he wakes up and starts the same daily routine all over again.

One day, I walked into this town and went on a tour around the entire vicinity. The last place I happened to visit was the writer's home. He introduced himself to me as Vilder, the demon writer. When he told me about his work, I wondered what a demon writer actually did. I knew it had something to do with demons and writing. When I asked Vilder about it, he told me what it was all about. He said that he wrote stories about demons and their adventures. Sometimes the demons won and sometimes they lost in the various stories that he wrote. Sometimes his stories had no point at all. Sometimes he was basically writing philosophy on demons and how they lived by certain rules and regulations. I thought this Vilder fellow was nuts and maybe he was.

Vilder showed me the library he was building up and how he wanted other people to find these books and someday read them. I decided to read some of these books myself and give my "proffessional" opinion about them. I started reading one book about a demon who ate newborn babies and finished the first chapter. After the first night there in that town, I turned into the demon I was reading about. I traveled from Lakefall and ate three babies in the towns closest. This was a horrifiying thing, but I had no choice because I was virtually something else other than me. I still resembled me, but I was more demonic looking and ugly. I'll let you picture what I looked like, but whatever it was, it was not handsome.

One Sunday, I decided to go to church and eat some babies at this baby dedication service. I entered the church and felt an odd presence there. This presence was strange because it wasn't demonic like myself but something else. I made my way to the front of the church where the pastor was praying for the babies. I was about a several feet from the first baby when something/some force hit me. I fell back on the floor and saw a man dressed in a grey suit with an old sword in his hand. He had brown curly hair and was not so ugly as I was (I think he was quite goodlooking). I stood up to him and made ready for another lunge at the babies and he cut a deep wound in my gut area. Looking at my black demon blood on his sword, I fled the church and went to search for some first aid package for demons. There was none and I (the demon) decided to go back to my source which was Vilder, the demon writer in Lakefall.

Vilder saw me coming and came out to greet me. I dealt him a blow that carried him into his house and through the rearmost wall. He took one of his books and read it. Soon he became this green ugly dragon-like monster with wings that shot deadly poison arrows. We fought from 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. and after that we were both tired and he said some words that caused him to revert back to human form, but I was stuck in that ugly demonic shell that was my new body. I was going to kill Vilder if I didn't think there was a chance that he could turn me back into what I was before I read that book of his.

Night had fallen and now I was roaming the this ghost town of Lakefall like a ghost who is trying to remember how he died. I was trying to find ways in which I could turn myself back into my human form. Suddenly an idea dawned on me: I would find that same book I was reading and finish reading it. Maybe somewhere in those pages was a remedy for this terrible deformity and detestability that I was going through.

I walked steadily towards Vilder's house and then I heard voices coming from within. It seemed like Vilder had company. I took a look peek at the window and saw the most hideous demons having a conversation with the demon writer Vilder. Were these demons created from the demented writings of this psychopath or where they the original spawns of the devil himself?

Quickly, I tried to remember the layout of the house and where exactly I had left that book that turned me into this thing. After a few seconds of recall, I crashed through the door surprising all the inhabitants of the house. I ran into the room that I had used for a night and found the book on the pillow which was laying on the bed. I grabbed the book and smashed through the window glass. Spreading my wings, I flew as hard and fast as I could and turned around one time just to see if I was being followed and I saw nothing. I found a nearby town and hid myself behind a gas station. I did not sleep that night. I stayed up until morning and finished the entire book.

When I woke up the next morning, nothing had changed. I was still very demonic looking and super ugly. That is when I noticed on the back cover of the book there was some text written in very small print. I squinted my eyes and read something about a phrase that would reverse the effects of the book on the reader. I said this special phrase to myself (it was included in the text) and in less than a second of completing the phrase, I was back to my human form again. I'm not a good-looking person, but I would rather be the ugliest human than a demon any day of the week.

THE END.

Rodney and the Quadropods (Part 3: Ending)

Special officer Warden stepped out of his patrol car and took in the scene. Here he was with seven police squad cars parked outside a house containing a boy and strange mechanical creatures who he controlled.

A quadropod's sensor device peeked out a window and the monitor came on with a clear definition of the scene outside. Rodney saw what was on the screen and knew that this was going to be bigger than the two cops he killed. He commanded ten quadropods to climb onto the roof and fire on the police below. The quadropods obeyed and were on the rooftop in seconds.

Laser devices came from inside the machines and fired at the police who were caught off-guard by this sight. All seven of the cars were made unusable and five officers were killed and two injured. This cause Warden to call in S.W.A.T. for assistance. By the time the S.W.A.T. vehicle got there, only five police officers along with Warden were left. They took refuge in the nearby houses because the cars were destroyed by missiles sent from the quadropods.

A S.W.A.T officer by the name of Roger Jones was in charge of this team. He sent a reconaissance team to assess the situation and they made a plan of attack. One S.W.A.T member drove the car and the quadropods destroyed it as ordered, but while this was happening, the rest of the S.W.A.T. team took up positions behind the fence of the next house nearest to the one occupied by the hostiles quadropods and their controller. Snipers shot down the quadropods on the roof and the coaxed the other ones to reveal themselves through the windows and these they also destroyed.

Jones led the team into the house and expertly destroyed the remaining quadropods who Rodney had ordered to defend him. He locked himself inside a room and wished that the police officers would go away, but they eventually found him and took him back to the police station.

Rodney's family was disappointed when they found out that he had killed his sister and her boyfriend. He was sent to a young boys' prison where he underwent therapy and a lot of other helpful things that the authorities hoped would make him less of a menace to society. He was released three years later and went back to his family. He stayed away from computers from then on, and made sure never to get personally involved with machines again.

THE END.

Rodney and the Quadropods (Part 2)

The alarm on one of his computers went off. Rodney woke up to that noise and looked around to see if anything had changed. Nothing had changed. He was still in this new house and all his computers were busy recharging themselves at the power outlets in the house. There were twenty computers that he had and they all presented themselves before Rodney when he commanded them to.

Rodney ordered a galaxy brand computer to play some music for him so the computer retrieved music files from the internet and played a list of Rodney's favorites in order to "wake" him and get him ready for the day ahead. Rodney went to the bathroom and took a shower. The bathroom was very pristine and high-class which was what he expected from an expensive house like this. The computers had dug a grave for the bodies of the family, and now they were six feet under their own backyard.

Since the computers seemed to have minds of their own and walked around on four legs each, Rodney decided to call them quadropods. He ordered them to search the house and find money and they came up with two hundred fifty wallops (name of the currency). Rodney pocketed the cash and headed out the doorway to go and find some food, but the computers had already thought of that and brought him scrambled eggs and ham with a glass of milk. Rodney ate his breakfast and turned on the television. There were about a hundred channels for him to choose from and he took his time.

At 11 a.m. the phone rang and Rodney wondered if he should answer, but he was frightened that the caller might ask too many questions about the family so he decided to let the answering machine take the message.

The housemaid came by at 3 p.m. and wondered why there was no one here in the house. She saw the damage that had been done when the quadropods had attacked and killed the residents. She went quickly to the phone and tried dialing for the police when she noticed that the phone wire had been cut. Now she was really scared and started to move to the doorway when two quadropods stood in her way. She looked at them in shock and disbelief because she had never seen these things before. One of them sent a current of electricity through her body and she fell to the floor unconscious. Rodney came out of his hiding in the bathroom and ordered the quadropods to bury the housemaid in the backyard just like the family.

It was daylight and Rodney didn't want to be seen with his quadropods so they decided to stay indoors. Later in the evening, the neighbor came by to visit and no one answered the door. He tried calling the house and no one answered. He looked through the window and saw that the place was in a mess. At seeing this, he went back to his house and called the police.

The police showed up soon and knocked on the door of the house that Rodney was in. He looked outside and recognized the car and uniforms. There were two of them so he figured that the quadropods could handle this as well.

The police officers heard something coming towards the door and then the door opening to reveal the quadropods. One of them jumped on the first officer and stabbed her in the face with a knife-like object that came from within it. The other brought out a mechanical arm that fired an electro-dart at the second officer. Both officers were dead in a matter of seconds. The bodies were dragged into the house and buried in the backyard. The neighbors witnessed all this and reported it to more police.

In minutes, a horde of police cars were making their way towards the neighborhood where Rodney and the quadropods were. They parked outside the gate and drew their guns, aiming at the house occupied by a 13 year old boy and his meta-computers.

Rodney and the Quadropods (Part 1)

Rodney owned a lot of old and broken down computers. He needed to put these things to use and the more they remained in his garage, the more his dad pestered him to junk them. He couldn't bring himself to junk these computers because he had made friends with them and they were the only friends that understood him.

One day, his big sister came and wanted to park her motor bike in the garage but couldn't because the computers were in the way. She picked loaded them into a truck and drove off to dispose off the computers in the city dump. Rodney came back home and was not too happy with what happened to his friends. He swore vengeance against the person who took his friends away from him. They would surely pay for this. He asked around and found out that it was his big sister who did this terrible deed.

The next night, Rodney went to the city dump and searched for his computers but couldn't find them. Then he heard a strange mechanical noise coming from underneath a pile of trash - it was his computers but they had come to life. The computers had each four legs to walk on and their monitors were like heads rotating and scanning the area. They recognized Rodney and came to him.

Rodney's sister was out on a date with her boyfriend and she saw a boy and some things following him. They seemed to be walking right towards them. The boyfriend got out of his car and walked over to the boy and recognized Rodney. A flash of red light hit the boyfriend on the face and it melted off his head. A computer crawled on top of his body and stabbed him in the heart with a sharp looking object from inside it. Rodney and his computer friends now headed towards his sister. She came out of the car and started running.

Rodney turned to a computer on his left and motioned for it to go after her; the computer chased after Rodney's sister and tripped her. She fell and peeled flesh on her knees. A bunch of wires came out of the computer and injected themselves into her heart while she was nursing her knee wound. The computer sent a current of electricity into her heart through the wires and she died.

Seeing that these computers could be used to his advantage, Rodney decided not to go home that night. He went to the rich part of town and broke into the house. The computers deactivated the alarms before they broke in. Rodney had his computers kill the entire family living in that house and spent the night there.

Savage Hog

The night was falling and Tony was tired. He had been running, jogging, and power-walking for about an hour and a half straight. Now he turned around and scanned the place he was at: a forest that stretched for miles and miles. He was being pursued by this mechanical beast controlled by some sadistic people who wanted to kill him for sport.
He heard the sound of the machine coming. They called it the spider boar because it had eight legs like a spider and a large metal horn ornament on the front top of its body.
Tony felt that he could run no longer so he stayed where he was and looked around for a hiding place. The only place he could find was behind a giant tree trunk.
The spider boar came stalking through the forest. The mechanical legs of the machine were digging into the soil and when needed, they could climb large trees (but that wasn't needed because the spider boar had an in-built periscope that could rise above the canopy of the forest and scan the area.
Tony's heart was beating hard and fast. There was no way he could escape and soon the spider boar would discover him. He grabbed a fallen tree branch and started running towards the sound of the machine.

Three guys were in the spider boar. The only awareness they had of the outside world was provided by video cameras and an extra array of sensory devices which served their purpose well. They all wore brown jump suits and were fastened into their seats with seat belts. The controls of the spider boar were located in front where the two "pilots" sat. The third person at the back just gave advice and moral support, but if need be, he had small compartment of tools and weapons to his right in the wall. A retractable ladder would descend and he could emerge from the top of the spider boar and be exposed to the outside world. But the situation did not call for that right now.
There was disturbance on one of the spider boar's limbs. The copilot tapped into the sub-boar cameras and saw what was causing it: Tony was using his tree branch in a futile attempt to cause the spider boar to fall. The pilots were amused to see this and maneuvered the metal beast so that it was facing Tony.
Tony was now starring at the front of the spider boar. A thermo gun emerged from the top of the machine and the last thing he saw was a yellow beam of light coming straight at him.
The three people being carried by the spider boar watched the body of their victim disintegrate into hot ash that fell to the ground and died out.

The spider boar had spent thirty minutes traveling from the kill zone to the main highway. As it neared the road, the pilots pushed buttons and flicked switches in order for the transformation process of the spider boar to begin.
Soon a white car came roaring out of the woods and onto the highway. This seemed strange to other cars but they would have been more shocked to know that this car was a killer machine controlled by killers and they had just killed their first victim.
